Classic Make-up Look

Here's an easy-to-do classic make up look that is perfect for a VTR schedule. Using red lipstick as an accent. It works well with a simple natural barely there make up.

Start with a clean canvas. Remember CTM: Cleanse, Tone and Moisturize. Use your favorite cleanser, toner and moisturizer to prepare your face.

Apply your primer, foundation and concealer to achieve the flawless skin.

Start lining your brows with an eyebrow pencil. Fill it in with use of brow brush. Our brows should be like sisters, don't try it hard to appear as twins. No pressure. Make it as natural as possible.

Use a soft beige for the eyelids and line the eyes using black kohl pencil. Curl your lashes and apply mascara two to three times.

Brush a natural looking colored blush for the cheeks.

Line the lips and put on that bold red lipstick.

When wearing a red lipstick, it is best to leave the eyes and cheeks looking natural.

Here's my before and after make-up look:

Celeteque Facial Cleanser
Nivea Mattifying Toner
Celeteque Facial Moisturizer
QuickFX Mattifier as primers

D' Emperor: A comeback play

I can’t deny it; I also have my share of pag-aalinlangan when I accepted the project. I auditioned half-heartedly. It was only because of a good friend, John Lapus, and my love for theater that’s why I came back. With two jobs on hand, (we have a family business and I’m currently working for National Commission on Culture and the Arts as Project Manager) I really had a rollercoaster schedule to work on. During our few weeks of rehearsals, a lot of disappointments came our way… no definite venue, negative supplies on production materials, cast members quitting, cancelled rehearsals due to venue, exams week, semestral break, nagtatampo na kids ko, puyat, nagtitipid, bagyo, brownout, ulan, ambon, lahat na sige! Dumating din ako sa point na “mag-quit na nga ako, tragis yan, not worthy!” But I didn't bother to. Most of the time, tahimik lang ako. I'm just cool about it. I realized, every production has its own flaws and difficulty. It is how you handle it with grace and managed it respectfully to overcome these negativities… Tama? Ok, fongga*!

Now on its 35th year, Teatro Tomasino celebrates it with its first major production entitled D’ EMPEROR. An adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen’s The Emperor’s New Clothes, an emperor with extravagant obsession on fashion outfits. Showcasing some local designer’s creations, with its tagline: “FONGGA!”, everyone will love it. I will be performing as Myra, the Emperor’s Manager.

Nakita ko ba ang fantastically fabulous fabric na outfit ng Emperor? Abangan. At UST Albertus Magnus Auditorium, my performances will be as follows:
November 27 – 1pm
November 28 – 4pm
November 29 – 10am/4pm

Counting down: 6 days to go before our opening…  I can say, I survived! Every rehearsal is fun. Memorizing our lines, blocking, discovering each actors, changing the units and objectives, playing more with the character, synthesis during breaks and even after the rehearsals. Actually, doon nagsisimula ang fun J.

It brings back happy memories of my old theater days. Gusto lang naming ang tawanan… marinig ang latest chismiz ng mga bakla… at ang hindi mawawala ang daotan*…  some people  may never understand it, pero yun talaga ang binabalik balikan namin…
Believe it or not, we laughed, we cried, we loved, we hated and argued (a lot!) with each other. But we gained genuine discipline and friendship here. Teatro Tomasino is where I really started my theater discipline. There’s always this feeling why time and time again, we go back to Teatro Tomasino.

---------------------------------------------
*fongga - fab, fantastic, fabulous, bongga... FONGGA!
*daotan - laitan, okrayan, laro, abanuknuk, janis... ewan ko na di mo pa makuha!

VOV in SM Makati!

Yesterday I was searching in the net for the VOV products that I will be asking a friend to buy in her trip to Korea. I don't know why but VOV is no longer available in the local department stores. In a TV raket way back 2007, I was introduced into using VOV make-up, it is used by a lot of celebrities and professional make-up artists. A Korean product that I loved ever since. It has a very effective coverage for me. Surprisingly, I have read a blog saying that VOV is now available in SM Makati!

Today I went to SM Makati, hopeful of my search. So excited to enter the mall. An laki ng ngiti ko when I saw the VOV stall! Yey!!!

To my dismay, the stall was in random mess.

Blush on and eye shadows mixed up. A clutter of empty make-up boxes. I asked around to help me find the product I'm looking for, but I was told that there's no saleslady assigned for the VOV stall! What??? The saleslady nearby discouraged me to buy. She told me that all the products on display were the only products left. E puro testers lang nasa display! Malapit na din daw ito i-pull out. Plenty make-up artists of the celebrities went there and were also disappointed. She then introduced me to her make-up brand stall instead. Kaloka ka 'te. Galing mo dumiskarte. Isumbong kaya kita?

I'm almost pissed off. Finally, meron nag-assist na branch manager. She then opened the cabinet of the display counter and gave me new items on stock. Although some of the make-up I was looking for was not there (VOV Two way Cake in Dark Beige and Real Fit V-Line Two way Cake in Skin Beige), I just content myself with what is available.

I am happy with the Baby Cheek in Baby Pink color for my daughter. The powder design almost looks like Hello Kitty.

I have a mixed feeling with the Pressed Powder. I didn't see it in the VOV website. And I'm used to the Korean characters at the back. Hindi naman siguro (sana) ito fake noh? Nevertheless, the shade is perfect for me and it has the signature scent of VOV. Hmmmmmmm :)

Now, I'm looking forward for my friend's trip to Korea :)

My birthday haul

My first haul ever. I have read birthday hauls and I just thought of doing one as well. My birthday was October 14, I didn’t have that much stuff but was excited to have these things, some were given to me and some I have picked randomly the week before and after my birthday.
Mac Studio Tech foundation and Mac lipstick Jest from my barkada, Bubbles, a pasalubong from Canada. I'm loving the shade of the lipstick!

Ring P299, bracelet P299, earrings P199 and necklace P299 of WWW from SM Makati. I got this to go with my character as a fortune teller for a vtr. I love the different details of each bracelet.

Silver hairpin P99. I like collecting simple silvers.

Before

After
Maybelline Magnum Volume Express P399. I was convinced by Michelle Phan’s vlogs to try this mascara from Maybelline. Inexpensive and yet can add volume to my thin eyelashes.

bendable jelly shoes

Grendha jelly shoes P1,695. I learned to like the super comfy Brazilian shoes at Bambu store at Glorietta 4. The only regret for me is that I think I should have gotten the size 6 instead. I will be including this in my wishlist this Christmas for another pair!

Photo from Olay Philippines

I need to try and experience all the promises indicated in the box!

Olay Total Effects 7-in-1 anti ageing cream , a daily moisturizer. Now at 40, I think I need a cream that provides anti-aging. I have been eyeing to get this 7-in-1 thingy when it was first introduce, and it was just around P499 then I think, now it sells for P699! I saw this at a store in Sun Valley subd. selling at P230.00 and original. That’s good enough for me. I have read some reviews on OTE about what they call purging or “breaking out” when using it for the first time. Okay, so I have to start using it and try to blog it after. There's a lot of good reviews about this product.

Nike's Women's Air Relentless Shield running shoes P3,595. My hubby and I are planning to start running/jogging around the subdivision. I will start it off with the proper running shoes. It's been ages since I have a decent rubber shoes, hmmm... high school days?

Do-it-yourself table

Working table I bought with the SM gift check I got from Lei. Thank you!

And last but not the least, my birthday survival... since I'm having my asthmatic attacks on that day, my Ventolin inhaler!

I'm beautiful in my way
Cause God makes no mistake
I'm on the right track, baby
I was born this way...

Thanks everyone J

Space Invaders

Finally, the much awaited college barkada get together had happened!

August 27, one stormy Saturday afternoon at our friend's much talked about Subspace Coffee House. To gather my Interior Design barkada is such a production number to organize. Everyone has their own priorities, issues and situations. Malayong lugar, may work, may kid's activity program, may raket, umuulan... haaay!

Reserved. There's no stopping us now!

Since I arrived early, I had the chance to "interview" Wilmer regarding the coffee house. Two years ago, Wilmer and Thor established a furniture shop, the Space Encounters. Many passers-by have mistakenly thought of it as a coffee shop, as well as getting requests from their clients to put up a snack bar in it. So when they decided to open one, luckily there's this place... a walking distance away from Space Encounters. Dalawang tumbling lang, promise! Thus, Subspace Coffee House came to be, happily serving coffee... hehehe. Eventually, they introduced pastas and sandwiches, to cater lunch and dinner for the tenants of the building and nearby offices.

We can't get enough of taking photos so just check it out...

The coffee house showcased some of their furnitures from Space Encounters

Displaying lots of interesting collectibles sourced abroad and given by family and friends

My daughter's first time to hold an analog rotary phone.

This cake gave me the reason to return. Yummy!!!

No smoking... Like!

Seoul milk for a non-coffee drinker like me, but you have to try their bestseller Sweet Purple Potato latte and Peanut Butter latte

Wilmer Lopez. Thor wasn't around at that time, recuperating from an operation. Get well soon, Thor!

So proud and so excited of the shop, we have invaded it! Anyway, they are used to it. It has been featured in various TV shows, used for pictorials and styling for some magazines.

Custom-made furnitures in bright colors and playful prints.

Oriental pop-culture/Korean inspired knick-knacks

Vintage clocks, telephones, posters and lamps.
